Why Leaf Cutter Bees?
Leaf cutter bees get their name because they use small leaf shavings to build their homes. Unlike honey bees, they're solitary creatures who do not have a hive to defend. This makes them far less likely to sting if you get too close. In the event a sting does occur, they do not have barb or venom like most other species, so they're much less likely to cause a reaction such as anaphylaxis, swelling and other allergic responses. They're also much more effective pollinators than other bee varieties - a single leaf cutter bee can pollinate the same amount as 20 honey bees. That means far fewer are needed to pollinate your garden and surrounding areas.
Our Solitary Bee Homes are Ideal for Eco-friendly Gardeners
You'll find our bee houses are great for those who are environmentally conscious. They're not only made in such a way to attract leaf cutter bees specifically, but they're also constructed using upcycled beer bottles. This reduces landfill waste while also adding an earthy and effective addition to your yard. The bottle is fitted with a felt hanger, so you can easily hang it anywhere it's needed - from fencing, hooks attached to your home or garage, or any number of other locations.
